"Thriving in Sex Work" Progress Report: I Wrote All The Words!

For weeks and months now I never thought I'd ever get to this point, but today I can officially say, "I'm done" with proofing and editing "Thriving in Sex Work." This means no more rewrites, no more cross-referencing, no more adding or taking words away, no more looking for typos and dropped commas. When I get the files back from the eformatter and the typesetter, I'll need to look for spacing errors, but as far as the content is concerned, I'm done.

I feel sort of dazed, actually. You know that feeling when you have something huge in your life that fills every day, and then there's that time when it's all over? It kinda feels like I made it to the top of Mount Everest, but without the view-- I've run out of up.

Another thing I wasn't prepared for-- how proud I am of the final product. In the 2 1/2 years it took me to write this, so much of the time I agonized over how it might read, would it be complete, would it be a good read. I have no idea how anyone else will receive it, but reading it over (and over and over again), at least to my eye, it flows. I cover a ton of territory, but the book still holds together.

Now it's off to get formatted for the ebook version; that'll take about 10 days. After that, it's off to the typesetter to be laid out for the paperback edition, so another week or so there. I could be holding a proof in my hot little hands by the end of this month-- I cannot believe it!

As soon as I know for sure the book is available, I'll let you know. Thank you so much for following me on this huge journey. I can't wait to have it available for you to read!

Until next time, be sweet to yourself.

Love-- LolaD.
